Mackenzie is the Global Startup Evangelist at AWS. His days are spent traveling the globe to meet startups, share their stories, and connect engineering teams together. Every day there are a large number of startups launching on AWS across every imaginable industry. It’s Mackenzie’s mission to find stories of startups that are helping to improve the world and share these stories with a wide audience.

Prior to joining AWS, Mackenzie was the Head of Technical Operations at Betterment, the world’s largest independent robo-advisor based in NYC which manages over $8B in assets. Mackenzie was a founding engineer and Head of Technical Operations at Oscar Health, an insurance startup also based in NYC, helping to grow the company to over 400+ employees.

Mark Higgins, Beacon Platform, Co-Founder and Chief Analytics Officer & Flamur Gogolli, AWS Senior Specialist Solution Architect
Mark Higgins is the co-founder and Chief Analytics Officer at Beacon Platform Inc, a financial technology company that provides an enterprise technology platform for capital markets, aimed at quants, data scientists, and front office developers. Prior to co-founding Beacon in 2014, Dr Higgins spent eight years at JPMorgan Chase, where he launched the Athena project and co-headed the Quantitative Research group for the Investment Bank. He spent eight years at Goldman Sachs as a quant on the FX and interest rate desks, and has a PhD in astrophysics from Queens University in Canada.
Kirat Singh has had a long career as one of Wall Street’s premier technologists. Prior to co-founding Beacon, Kirat spent four years launching and delivering the Quartz project at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, which is now used by more than 5,000 developers across the bank. Before that, he launched and delivered the Athena project at JPMorgan with Beacon co-founder Dr. Mark Higgins, and spent eight years at Goldman Sachs building the SecDB platform used across the firm.
Flamur Gogolli is a Senior Specialist Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services (AWS) helping our Financial Services customers with architecting and running large scale and complex infrastructures efficiently. Prior to joining AWS, Flamur spent 4 years at JP Morgan, leading the cloud native transformation and migration of their Core Risk & Trade Management Platform (Athena). He brings over two decades of deep technical expertise working in several lead roles encompassing cloud, containers, DevOps, consulting, and systems engineering across multiple countries and industries.
